I founded Amanda Patton Garden Design & Planting at the very beginning of 2000 following on from a successful 20 year career as a professional illustrator. Book credits (over 80 titles) include all but one of Alan Titchmarsh's gardening books.

While the creation of beauty is an underlying philosophy in all my work, so too is the creation of atmosphere, and this was the theme of my Show Garden for Bradstones at the 2008 RHS Hampton Court Flower Show.

I've been broadcasting on BBC Somerset for a few years now and enjoy bringing garden design to a wider audience — I talk about design and interview gardening celebs! I also do the odd bit of writing for national magazines and I give lots of talks using slides I've taken over the years (I won 'Garden Photograph of the Year' in the 2003 RHS Photographic Competition). I plan to write a few books at some point too!

I'm a Registered Member of the Society of Garden Designers and a Member of the Garden Media Guild.
